John Offenbacher

John is a Partner in EY’s Professional Practice Group primarily focusing on revenue recognition matters. John previously served as a Partner in EY’s Assurance Practice based in Chicago where he primarily served as an audit partner and as a Partner in EY’s Regional Professional Practice Group. In his Regional Professional Practice role John consulted with EY audit engagement teams on a variety of technical accounting, auditing and risk management matters.

Prior to rejoining EY, John was a Senior Associate Chief Accountant in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. In this role, John supervised a team responsible for taking a leadership role in coordinating the Commission’s oversight of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. In addition, John served as a policy adviser to the Chief Accountant on audit matters.

Prior to his position as a Senior Associate Chief Accountant, John was a Senior Manager in EY’s Cleveland audit practice where he primarily focused on the automotive supplier and diversified manufacturing industries.

John is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia, Washington D.C., Illinois and Ohio.
