Born in the Netherlands, Johanna Sweaney Salt moved to California as a young girl. Johanna attended local schools, including Cal Poly, Pomona, where she majored in Behavioral Science and minored in Business Administration. The first public accounting position Johanna held was with a small, local CPA firm while she was still in school. Other than a short stint as corporate controller for an Orange County commercial real estate developer and international business consultant, Johanna has worked in public accounting ever since. Now a partner in Gray, Salt & Associates, LLP in the Village in Claremont, Johanna's practice includes mostly small businesses, estate and trust tax clients, and individual tax clients. Johanna lives in Claremont with her husband, Jonathan Salt, an artist. They have four grown children, ranging from 26 to 30 years old, and one very spoiled rescue mutt named Monty. Johanna has always been activein the community, serving on various non-profit boards in numerous positions. She is active in the California Society of CPAs, where she has served in a variety of local and state leadership positions, including State Chair. Johanna is also a Council Memberof the American Institute of CPAs, a member of the AICPA Private Company Practice Section Executive Committee, and a member of the Board and Finance Committee of Pilgrim Place, a local retirement community.
