Jeff is an audit partner and an SEC Reviewing Partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice. From 1997 to 1999, Jeff was a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the SEC in Washington, D.C.. When his fellowship ended in 1999, Jeff rejoined KPMG as a partner in the Department of Professional Practice in New York. From 2003 to 2005 he was an Audit Partner in our New York office’s Media Practice.Relevant ExperienceIn KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice, Jeff assists KPMG’s operating offices in resolving accounting and auditing issues, focusing primarily on stockc ompensation, pension, revenue recognition, business combinations, and restructuring and impairment issues. Mr. Jones also has expertise in SEC reporting matters, and accounting for consolidation and equity investee issues and income taxes. During his appointment to the SEC staff, Mr. Jones consulted with registrants on accounting and reporting matters and participated in developing rule proposals under the Federal Securities laws, including SAB 100 and SAB 101. Hisareas of technical emphasis included business combinations, revenue recognition, earnings management issues, consolidation and equity accounting and stock compensation.
Other Activities• Jeff has spoken to numerous audiences about a variety of topics and has authored articles about the accounting for revenue recognition and stock compensation. Mr. Jones also authored KPMG’s Accounting for Revenue Arrangements with Multiple Deliverables, first published in 2003 and edits KPMG’s Share Based Payment, first published in 2005. • Co Chair for the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association, New York City Chapter
