Janet Verneuille serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation and the Bank since December 2023. Janet originally joined the Bank in 2019 as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. Prior to 1N, Janet served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Empire National Bank. She previously served as Director, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of a national bank in organization after serving fifteen years at Bridgehampton National Bank, ultimately as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Early on Ms. Verneuille started her banking career as a teller fulfilling various roles in the branches until she transferred into the back office. She worked in loan operations supporting asset-based lending until her promotion to serve as a small business lending officer.

After completing her bachelor's degree in public accounting at Hofstra University, she left banking to obtain her Certified Public Accountant license while working for the Long Island office of KPMG. There she audited various financial institutions, commercial businesses, municipalities and nonprofits. Upon her return to banking she established the internal audit department and later became the Controller of Bridgehampton National Bank bridging the route to the executive suite.

Around the midpoint of her career she earned her graduate degree while working in government and education business operations, and she gained experience working as a leader in municipal finance.

Recognizing the importance of community involvement at 1N, Janet oversees the Bank's CommunityFirst volunteerism program, encouraging service throughout the organization. Janet is a longtime member of the New York State Society of CPAs, serving on the Suffolk Chapter Board in various capacities. Janet was privileged to have completed two reputable leadership programs, one through the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the second while obtaining her NYS SDBL Certification. Janet served as a Capstone Advisor at the American Bankers Association's Stonier Graduate School of Banking for sixteen years. Janet is especially dedicated to mentoring those coming up from behind her, leading others to professional success and satisfaction.
