James M. Burke is President and Chief Risk Officer for Community Bank of the Chesapeake. Mr. Burke joined Community Bank of the Chesapeake in December 2005. Prior to joining Community Bank, Mr. Burke was the Executive Vice President and Senior Loan Officer at Mercantile Southern Maryland Bank in Leonardtown, MD. In his current capacity, Mr. Burke is responsible for managing the Bank’s resources to achieve strategic and financial goals and objectives, while meeting the expectations of directors, clients, staff, shareholders and regulators.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATIONS
Mr. Burke received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from High Point College, High Point, North Carolina. He is a graduate of the Maryland Bankers School and the East Carolina Advanced School of Commercial Lending.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Mr. Burke is on the Board of Directors for the ARC of Southern Maryland, and a Trustee for St. Mary’s Ryken High School and Historic Sotterley Plantation.
