Graeme Leach
CEO and Chief Economist, Macronomics
Graeme Leach is one of Britain’s leading economists and CEO & Chief Economist of macronomics, a macroeconomic, geopolitical and future megatrends research consultancy. Before founding macronomics he was Chief Economist and Director of Policy at the Institute of Directors (IoD) for 15 years. Graeme represented the IoD in economic discussions with the Chancellor of the Exchequer and 10 Downing Street. He is a member of the IEA Shadow Monetary Policy Committee, and holds a visiting professorial chair in economic policy at the University of Lincoln. Graeme also lectures at Cardiff University Business School and is a Senior Fellow of the Legatum Institute in London.
Over recent decades Graeme has made hundreds of speeches on the economy and economic outlook in 28 countries across the globe. He is also a frequent media commentator having undertaken hundreds of live and pre-recorded television and radio interviews for the BBC, Sky News and other channels. Between 2014 and 2020 Graeme wrote a weekly column for the City AM newspaper.
He is currently writing a book, The Great Inflection, which argues that we will see a sharp acceleration in growth from the mid 2020s onwards as a result of the technological revolution now underway.
