Current Responsibilities
Fred Hargett is Novant Health's chief financial officer. He joined the health system in 2003 and most recently served as executive vice president of finance for Novant. Prior to that, Hargett held the position of senior vice president of financial planning for Novant.
Prior Experience
Before joining Novant Health, Hargett served as manager of healthcare consulting at Ernst & Young in Charlotte, NC. At Ernst & Young, he led engagements in strategic planning, business development and financial forecasting.
Education and Awards
Hargett graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in public health, a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He is a certified public accountant licensed in North Carolina. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Fred is the recipient of the 2013 CFO of the Year award given by the Triad Business Journal.
