I am currently a Senior Audit Manger who averages around 60,000 miles flown and 75 nights a year in travel. In 2010, I stumbled across a website offering 150,000 AA points for signing up for a credit card. Even though I have not flown on American in over 10 years, I applied and have been hooked ever since. Since that time, my wife and I have accumulated over 3 million miles and have used them to take our family to Disneyland, New York and Florida, all expenses paid. Additionally, my wife and I are traveling first class to Australia in January 2014, all courtesy of credit cards. I have learned that applying for credit cards is a game. There are winners and losers, and-most importantly-there are rules that must be followed.
