Faris Fink
Commissioner, Small Business/Self-Employed (SB/SE) Division, IRS
Faris R. Fink is the Commissioner for the Small Business/Self-Employed Division (SB/SE), where he is responsible for service and enforcement programs for taxpayers who file personal, corporate, employment, excise and estate and gift tax returns as well as other Servicewide programs. Prior to his May 2011 selection as the Commissioner of SB/SE, he served as the Deputy Commissioner SB/SE. Previously, he served as the Director, Examination Area Midwest where he was responsible for ensuring that timely and quality examinations were conducted on small business and self-employed taxpayers in the Midwest area while encouraging compliance with the tax laws. He also served as Director, Compliance Area 9 and was responsible for field examination and collection programs. Faris began his IRS career as a revenue officer in November 1980. Prior to his entry into the Executive Development Program in 2000, he served in a variety of managerial positions with responsibility for both examination and collection programs.
