Fariba Nasary is an Associate Chief Accountant in the Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA) at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where she provides technical expertise on matters involving internal control over financial reporting and the audit of financial statements. She collaborates with teams across the SEC on emerging accounting and auditing issues and supports both the Commission’s oversight of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and its rulemaking efforts.

Prior to joining OCA, Fariba was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), where she led audit engagements for public and nonpublic companies and advised non-audit clients on financial reporting, risk, and governance matters. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
