Mr. Hayes is Counsel in Goodwin Procter's Trusts and Estate Planning practice. As Counsel, he concentrates his practice on trust and estate administration, advising banks, trust companies, and professional fiduciaries on issues regarding trust and estate administration, including estate tax, generation skipping tax and fiduciary income tax issues. Mr. Hayes has spoken at numerous seminars on trust and estate administration, fiduciary duty,and fiduciary income tax.

Mr. Hayes chaired both the Massachusetts Prudent Investor Act Committee, the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code Committee, and was a member of the Massachusetts Uniform Principal and Income Act Committee, all of which were enacted in Massachusetts.He is currently a member of the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Decanting Act Committee.

Mr. Hayes, received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, his LL.M in taxation from Boston University School of Law and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
