Ed Heine is the Managing Director of Surety for PayneWest Insurance, Inc., Inc. (PWI), a regional firm specializing in Insurance, Bonds, Financial Services and Employee Benefits. Ed‘s primary role in the company is Managing Director of the company’s surety bond department, and oversees the company’s Construction Specialty Division. Ed is also a shareholder of PWI, and plays an active role in the executive management of the company. PWI’s surety practice serves customers throughout the Western United States. Through a network of offices located throughout Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon, PWI has established a key role in providing insurance and surety services to the construction industry of the region.
Ed served as President of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers in 2005 - 2006, the nation’s leading trade association for surety bond professionals. He also serves as a member of the faculty of NASBP’s Continuing Education Committee, and is a highly-rated speaker on issues involving risk management and surety issues related to the construction industry. A graduate of Bowdoin College, Ed began his surety career in 1979 as a surety underwriter, and served in various underwriting management positions in New York City, Seattle and Houston prior to joining Payne in 1990. He is an active member of the Associated General Contractors and the Construction Financial Management Association. A resident of Missoula, Montana, Ed currently serves on the Executive Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Missoula. In his free time, his interests include youth mentorship, foreign travel, gardening and enjoying wilderness adventures.
