Donald Walker CPA, MBA

Don Walker is now with Donald Walker Consulting LLC.  He was a senior managing director in the FTI Consulting Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice and is based in Washington, DC. Mr. Walker assists clients with SEC investigation issues and reporting matters. He also provides expert services in civil and regulatory accounting malpractice cases. Mr. Walker has provided expert opinions related to internal controls and the internal audit function for a financial institution.  Mr. Walker joined FTI Consulting after 17 years of service at the Washington, DC headquarters of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission where he was the senior assistant chief accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance responsible for resolving technical accounting, financial reporting and disclosure issues in the financial services industry. Mr. Walker worked closely with the Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant, the Division of Enforcement, and the federal banking regulators, as well as outside counsel and companies’ independent auditors. He was a co-author of SEC Staff Accounting Bulletin No. 102.   Mr. Walker is a frequent speaker at the AICPA National Banking conference and at various panels and premier providers of continuing education and CLE seminars. He is an adjunct professor teaching accounting in Georgetown University’s L.L.M. and J.D. programs and has previously served as an adjunct professor in managerial accounting at Georgetown University and Colby College.  He earned his M.B.A. at The Amos Tuck Graduate School of Business at Dartmouth College and his A.B. at Amherst College.
