Don Dea serves as Board Chair of America’s VetDogs & the GuideDog Foundation, Founder and chair ASAE AAPI Advisory Group which he founded and assembled AAPI leaders, Immediate Past Chair, Excelsior University, Board Chair, Emeritus, Excelsior University, and as a strategic and business advisor to associations, non-profits, and start-ups. Strategic Advisor, AICPA. Don has served in the private, non-profit, and government sectors: including serving as special assistant to the Attorney General, Department of Justice in the President's Executive Exchange Program and serving as Advisor to the John H. Graham IV, FASAE, CAE Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Fund. Don has authored several books and articles published by the ASAE Foundation on digital transformation and online education, as well as on technology, healthcare, mobile, digital innovation, association leadership and governance, and innovation.
He co-founded Fusion Productions and co-produced digitalNow, an executive summit for association/non-profit leaders. Dea has served in senior executive roles in global technology, sales & marketing, and real estate, including the Xerox Corp. He is a co-founder of several high-technology companies and construction firms.
Don previously served as Past Treasurer of America’s VetDogs & the GuideDog Foundation. Past Treasurer Excelsior University. Don served on the board of directors of HIMSS Media. Don has served as board chair of, the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired; Board of Directors Salvation Army Board; the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Board; past chair of the Industry Research Advisory Council (ASAE); past chair of Membership Section Council (ASAE); ASAE Executive Management Section Council; and Advisory Board, Educators Serving Educators (Excelsior University). Dea was elected to the American Society of Association Executive Fellows (FASAE). In 2021, Don was recognized as ASAE’s Academy of Leaders Award Winner 2021 for serving and advancing the Association Profession and non-profit sector. Don was recently recognized by his alma mater, McDaniel College as the 2022 Alumni Association Community Service Award recipient.
