Diane M. Rubin, CPA, is a retired partner with the firm of Novogradac & Company LLP, a national public accounting firm headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices throughout the United States. She began her career at Price Waterhouse in New York after obtaining an MBA in Accounting from the University of Washington.
In 1993, Diane was appointed to the California State Board of Accountancy, where she served as President of the Board and chaired several committees including the Committee on Professional Conduct and the UAA Task Force.
Diane was a member of the Board of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) from 1998 to 2007, and served as its Chair in 2005-2006. She chaired a number of committees including the Examinations Committee during the period when the CPA exam changed from paper and pencil to a computerized exam.
Diane served as a member of the Auditing Standards Board and its Audit Issues Task Force from 2003 to 2007. In 2012, the Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) appointed Diane to the Private Company Council (PCC.)
Active in her community, Diane was appointed in 1990 by the Marin County Board of Supervisors to the Marin County Parks, Open Space and Cultural Services Commission. She served as Chair of the Commission for two years and continued to serve on the Commission and its County Fair Committee and Cultural Services Committee until completion of her fourth term in 2000. Ms. Rubin is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is a director of the San Francisco Opera Guild. She has also served on numerous other community boards including the Board of Trustees of Mount Tamalpais School and the Boards of the Junior League of San Francisco and Florence Crittenton Services.
