Deborah Perry Piscione is a principal of Vorto Consulting, a Silicon Valley-based innovation consultancy firm that focuses on growth. She is also a serial entrepreneur, bestselling author, public speaker and specializes her speaking and consulting work in her innovation methodology, Improvisational Innovation.

Deborah is currently on tour with her latest book, "The Risk Factor: Why Every Corporation Needs Big Bets, Bold Characters and the Occasional Spectacular Failure," Deborah reveals how risk-taking can enable organizational change and internal innovation. The book was published by St. Martin's Press on January, 2015.

In her 2013 national bestselling book, "Secrets of Silicon Valley: What Everyone Else Can Learn From the Innovation Capital of the World" (Palgrave MacMillan), Deborah covers the characteristics of the Silicon Valley ecosystem, the history of how the culture came into being, the future of innovation and exponential technologies, and whether Silicon Valley can be replicated. The book is a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, and has sold to many countries throughout the world including China, Japan, Taiwan, Israel and Brazil.

Deborah is the co-founder of Chump Genius, a gaming and brand franchise giving kids exposure in STEM learning and careers, and CEO of Desha Productions, Inc., a multimedia company that owns and operates Alley to the Valley and BettyConfidential.com. Described by many of the countrys leading women as the summer camp for smart women, Alley to the Valley networks the worlds most influential women for dealmaking. Under her leadership, BettyConfidential has become one of the leading content & e-commerce sites and recognizable brands on the web for women (ages 18-49).

Prior to moving to Silicon Valley, Deborah spent 18 years in Washington, DC as a former congressional & White House staffer, and on-air commentator for CNN, MSNBC & CNN.
