David has over 25 years of experience in tax compliance and consulting, with a focus in the real estate industry. His specific client service focus includes:

• Tax consulting and compliance for partnerships and corporations
• Tax consulting and compliance for REITs
• Tax consulting surrounding 1031 transactions
• General business consulting
• Preparation and review of tax provisions for GAAP financial statements David joined the Dallas office of RSM in July of 2010.

He has significant experience in both the public accounting and private sector, including extensive experience with real estate partnerships and real estate investment trusts. Prior to joining RSM, David was the corporate tax director at a publicly traded mortgage REIT, which had over $155 million in revenues. He was also the corporate tax director for a real estate publicly traded partnership, which managed a portfolio of five private equity REITs. These REITs had collectively over 500 properties. David’s responsibilities included managing the tax compliance filings for the REITs and the numerous state filings. He also structured new acquisitions and managed 1031 exchanges.
