As the Manager, Investigations, David Elzinga leads a team of skilled investigators at the Alberta Securities Commission conducting investigations into fraud, illegal distribution and other breaches of Alberta securities laws. Prior to joining the ASC in 2013, David practiced forensic accounting for 25 years at several firms assisting clients in various industries across Canada, the US and the Caribbean. During his career, David has held various senior leadership roles including the Global Leader of Forensics for an international accounting firm from 2009 to 2012. David is a regular speaker at professional conferences and has testified as an expert in court and ADR proceedings on many occasions. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta, a Certified Fraud Examiner and is Certified in Financial Forensics by the Association of International Certified Public Accountants.
