Darryl Schwark

Director, Capital Markets, PwC

Darryl is a Director in PwC’s Capital Markets practice based out of the Houston office. Darryl joined PwC in 2012.  Prior to joining PwC, Darryl worked four years for a large multi-national publicly traded Uranium mining and nuclear energy company in Canada.  During this time, Darryl was responsible for completing the company’s reconciliation from local GAAP to US GAAP, and all associated SEC filings.  He also was responsible for completing the company’s transition from Canadian GAAP to IFRS, assessing the impact of new or emerging accounting issues as they related to the company under US GAAP, Canadian GAAP and IFRS, completing the purchase accounting for newly acquired investments, and assisting with the spinoff of a non-core business.

Prior to joining this public company, Darryl worked for another Big-4 accounting firm in the Canadian Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan for over six years.  During this time, Darryl assisted companies in the oil and natural gas exploration and production, oilfield services, and mining industries that reported under Canadian GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS.   

Darryl has practical experience in US domestic and cross border listings, mergers and acquisitions, private placement transactions and US GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations with particular strengths in complex deal and accounting issues. Darryl assists US and International companies to enter the US and foreign capital markets, to complete both domestic and cross border transactions, and convert to or from IFRS.   

Darryl also provides ongoing advice and consultation on complex US GAAP, IFRS and SEC rules and regulations, which includes assisting clients (US domestic and foreign private issuers) with their periodic and year-end financial reporting requirements under both IFRS and US GAAP. He has experience presenting, MLP IPO, IPO Readiness, US GAAP and IFRS training courses with PwC, prior employers, clients, EUCI, and at Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants seminars. Darryl is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and graduated from the College of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan.
