Daniel Ross is an Associate Principal at Cohen Hamilton Steger & Co. Inc. in Toronto, Ontario. Since 2006, Dan has practiced exclusively in the areas of damages quantification, business valuation and forensic accounting investigations. His experience encompasses a diverse range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, energy, automotive, financial services, real estate, retail and others. Dan’s main practice involves quantifying economic damages and lost profits in intellectual property disputes and other complex litigation matters. His casework also includes preparing business valuations pursuant to shareholder disputes, corporate acquisitions and tax litigation. Dan has prepared or assisted in the preparation of numerous expert reports, valuation reports and affidavits for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court of Canada and commercial arbitrations, and he has appeared as an accounting expert witness in trial proceedings and mediations. In addition to his practical experience, Dan has spoken at conferences and frequently presented to law firms on the subjects of business valuation and damages quantification, and published articles in various periodicals including Lawyers Weekly and the Journal of Business Valuation.
