Ambassador Cynthia P Schneider, PhD teaches, publishes, and organizes initiatives in the field of cultural diplomacy. She leads the Arts and Culture Initiative at the Brookings Institution, and co-directs Muslims on Screen and Television (MOST), a non-profit that provides resources and information on Islam and Muslims for the U.S. entertainment community. Dr. Schneider is a Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at Georgetown University, where, from1984-2005, she taught art history, and published on Rembrandt and Dutch art. With Prof. of Theater Derek Goldman, she has co-founded Georgetown’s Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics. She also teaches at Dubrovnik International University and the Institute of Cultural Diplomacy (Berlin). Ambassador Schneider publishes and speaks on arts, culture, media, cultural diplomacy, and international affairs. Talks include a TED presentation on the global impact of American Idol.
