Clark Maxwell leads the accounting advisory team at Chatham Financial, which provides comprehensive interest rate, commodity, and currency hedging expertise to over 1,000 financial institutions, REITs, structured finance companies, and other corporate clients in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Prior to joining Chatham, Mr. Maxwell was a Manager at Ernst and Young, where he specialized in audits of financial institutions and served as a derivatives and hedging subject matter expert.
Prior to Ernst & Young, Mr. Maxwell worked at the Financial Accounting Standards Board on the development of SFAS 133, Accounting for Derivative Instruments and Hedging Activities, and co-authored sections of the FASB’s training manual on derivatives, A Review of Statement 133, Accounting for Derivative Instruments and Hedging Activities.
Mr. Maxwell is a CPA and a member of the AICPA. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac), where he serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee and as a financial expert on the Audit Committee. He received his BS, summa cum laude, and Masters in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
