Christopher Bolash

Chris Bolash is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice. The FAAS practice advises Ernst & Young’s clients on the implications of large-scale accounting change, and includes professionals deeply versed in US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The practice assists clients in project planning for accounting and systems change, provides IT implementation project support, and advises on technical matters relating to the ongoing effort of the FASB and the IASB to converge global accounting standards. The practice also assists clients with a variety of transaction-related matters, including public offerings, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Previously, Chris was a partner in the firm’s New York-based National Professional Practice – Accounting Standards group. In this role, Chris was responsible for monitoring standard setting activities and assisting Ernst & Young clients and engagement teams in understanding and implementing today’s complex accounting requirements under both US GAAP and IFRS.

Prior to joining the Professional Practice Group, Chris was a Practice Fellow with the Financial Accounting Standards Board for two years. As a Practice Fellow, Chris was involved with various technical application and implementation projects, as well as some of the Board’s major projects. Prior to his fellowship, Chris was a senior manager in the firm’s Atlanta office, where he was a member of the Southeast Sub-Area Professional Practice Group.

Chris has over twenty years of public accounting experience and has served a variety of companies throughout his career ranging from publicly traded multinational companies to venture-backed, development stage companies. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in San Jose, California in 1993 and also worked in Andersen’s Hamburg, Germany office from 1999 to 2002.

Chris is a graduate of Stanford University and is a licensed CPA in California, Georgia, Connecticut, and New York.
