Christian Peo is a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Professional Practice Group within the Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA) at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC. In this position, he assists in the Commission's work related to overseeing the activities of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and monitoring audit and independence standard setting internationally.
Previous to working at the Commission, Christian worked at KPMG in the Orange County, California office, working primarily on high-technology companies, and in the New York national office, working on a variety of projects, including incorporating new auditing standards into KPMG methodology, providing training on audit-related issues, and performing internal inspections of audit engagements. Christian was also a member of the anti-fraud working group established by the Center for Audit Quality.
Christian is a member of the AICPA and is a licensed CPA in both California and New York. He earned a B.S. in Accountancy from Brigham Young University.
