Chris Henkel

Chris Henkel is a senior director in the commercial real estate solutions group at Moody's Analytics (MA). Based in New York City, Chris is responsible for advancing MA's position in the CRE market by selling, designing, and overseeing the delivery of solutions that support customers' underwriting, research, risk management, and investing activities.

With nearly 25 years of commercial banking experience, Chris has a unique blend of business and academic experience across the financial services industry—including expertise in commercial credit and financial analysis, portfolio management, allowance for credit loss quantification, credit administration, risk consulting, and credit risk modeling.

In addition to leading business development and strategy initiatives, Chris is active in MA's outreach efforts - such as authoring articles for trade publications, delivering webinars, executive and board-level presentations, and speaking at industry conferences.

On a personal level, Chris enjoys competitive sailboat racing, endurance sports, travel, teaching, and learning to be an "empty nester."

Academically, Chris served as a credit risk instructor for the graduate banking school at Southern Methodist University (SMU). He holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas (Finance and Accounting) and graduated valedictorian from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
