Charles J. Hoskin was born in 1963 and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He graduated from Bonanza High School in 1981. He graduated from University of Utah with a B.A. in Economics in 1988. He received his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark College in 1991. While attending Northwestern, he served as the Ninth Circuit Review Editor for the Law Review.
He has published several articles in The Communique, the official publication of the Clark County Bar Association. He has been an adjunct professor for the Community College of Southern Nevada. He received the "Volunteer of the Year" award in 1999 and the "Circle of Support Award" in 2001 from the Clark County Bar Association. He was voted “Family Court Judge of the Year” by the Family Law Bar in 2011.
Governor Jim Gibbons appointed Judge Hoskin to Department E in March of 2009. He was then elected to that position in 2010 and again in 2014. Judge Hoskin serves as the Presiding Judge over the Family Division in Clark County, Nevada and oversees all Adult Guardianship cases.
