Catherine Brown is the Deputy Chief Risk Officer in the Office of Risk and Strategy (ORS) in the Division of Corporation Finance at the Securities and Exchange Commission. The work of ORS spans all risks facing the Division - strategic, operational, governance, and disclosure. The work of Ms. Brown’s team includes the analysis of complex, emerging, and evolving disclosure issues, such as Brexit and the transition away from LIBOR. Prior to joining the SEC in 2008, Ms. Brown practiced corporate and securities law at Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells) and WilmerHale. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from the Washington College of Law at American University and her B.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
