Caroline Van Alst is a partner in the Forensic and Financial Consulting Services Group at Hemming Morse, conducting forensic accounting investigations since 1995.

Her forensic accounting experience includes white-collar crime investigation, construction disputes, complex contract disputes, shareholders and partnership disputes, bankruptcy insolvency analyses / unfinished business claims and individual / corporate fraud investigations. Caroline has assisted both prosecution and defense, working as a consultant and expert witness in civil and criminal cases, testifying in Federal and State courts and presenting at mediation.

Caroline has served as chair of the San Francisco Chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) Forensic Services Section and as a member of the Society’s Litigation Consulting and Dispute Resolution Services Steering Committee. Caroline is also an Adjunct Professor at Golden Gate University, where she teaches forensic accounting to graduate students, and has authored material for the AICPA Certificate in Financial Forensics (CFF) preparatory course.

Caroline has a Master of Science in Accounting from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, emphasis in Finance, from the University of Southern California.
