Camryn Sanchez covers the state Senate for the Arizona Capitol Times, a nonpartisan political paper based in Phoenix. She started at the paper in 2021 and covers bills from filing to signing (or vetoing). Sanchez also writes for the Arizona Legislative Report and the Yellow Sheet Report. Before working at the Arizona Capitol Times, Sanchez worked as a fellow at the Arizona Republic, as a staff writer for the Yonkers Times and as an intern at the East Bay Express. She studied journalism at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. At the Capitol, she covers all topics from health care to education to housing, and speaks constantly with lawmakers, consultants, activists, lobbyists and other stakeholders.
