Mr. Byron Patrick

Byron K. Patrick, CPA.CITP, has spent two decades pulling the accounting profession into the technology era. He rejected a traditional accounting path early and founded Simplified Innovations, an IT firm built specifically for CPAs. From there he led AI adoption in bookkeeping at Botkeeper, then ran VERIFYiQ as CEO, bringing automated quality assurance to firms that had relied on manual review for generations. Today, Byron leads Karbon's Client Advisory Services product pillar, which includes Aider, the Period Close product reshaping how accounting firms handle month-end and quarter-end work. It is the next chapter of the same thesis: that the profession's hardest problems are solved by accountants and technologists building together, not by handing the work off to either side. As co-founder of TB Academy, Byron equips accountants with generative AI skills so they can lead the shift rather than react to it. He is a national speaker and writer, and he lives on a horse farm with his family, dogs, and horses.
