Bridget Hughes, CFA, is associate director of parent/stewardship for Morningstar’s manager research team. Hughes is responsible for leading Morningstar’s firm-level stewardship research efforts. In this role, she directs the Stewardship Committee, which oversees the assignment of Morningstar Stewardship Grades to the 20 largest mutual fund firms and evaluates the Parent ratings of all firms under coverage. Hughes is the lead analyst on Vanguard.
Prior to joining Morningstar in 1995, she worked for American Funds’ transfer agency and for Shearson Lehman as a financial consultant.
Hughes holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and in economics, with honors, from Illinois State University. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
