Brian Lopez

Brian Lopez is a Director with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP. Located in the firm’s Los Angeles office. He works with a core group of professionals who provide attorneys and their clients, as well as companies, with investigative, financial and economic consulting services in connection with business, accounting and fraud-related issues. Prior to Durkin Forensic Inc’s merger with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, Brian was a forensic investigator for KPMG LLP. Throughout Brian’s career, he has participated in fraud investigations involving clients in a broad range of industries, including construction, engineering, entertainment, finance, healthcare, hospitality, logistics and telecommunications. Types of investigations with which he has been involved include credit card fraud, embezzlement, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), earnings management, misappropriation of corporate assets, Ponzi schemes, third-party vendor fraud, and various types of funds tracing. Brian has extensive experience with gathering and interrogating electronic data and has created a variety of complex databases to assist in the analysis of all types of investigations. Because of his integral role in the development of KPMG’s global forensic data analysis tool, Brian was appointed a member of the firm’s National Forensic Data Analysis Working Group. He was also the West Region coordinator for KMPG’s journal entry tool and an international instructor for its data-analysis software. A Certified Fraud Examiner, Brian holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
