Brad Owen

Brad Owen is an Audit Partner with KPMG LLP (Canada) and is currently the Professional Practice Partner for the Greater Toronto Area Audit Practice. He is a Chartered Accountant (Ontario, Canada) and a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois). From 2003-2005 he transferred to KPMG LLP in the United States and worked in the Department of Professional Practice in New York where he focused on US GAAP reporting matters. During this time he was also involved in the initial development of accreditation policies for KPMG member firms to follow for both IFRS and US GAAP engagements.

Since his return to Canada in 2005 he has served as an audit partner or engagement quality reviewer for a number of the Canadian Firm's clients who file with the SEC as domestic registrants, foreign private issuers or Multijurisdictional Disclosure System (MJDS) filers and has been accredited to perform reviews in accordance with Appendix K to the former SEC Practice Section of the AICPA Division for CPA firms membership requirements. Given Canada's transition to IFRS, much of his time over the past few years has been spent working with a number of publicly traded clients as they have adopted IFRS or US GAAP (permissible for Canadian reporting issuers that are SEC registrants) as their financial reporting framework.
