Mr. Davidson is a partner for Crowe Horwath’s Assurance Professional Practice (APP), which is Crowe’s national office. In this role, he devotes significant effort to the firm’s U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) audit practice – consulting on SEC rules and filing requirements, securities offerings, comfort letters, and comment letters.
Mr. Davidson represents Crowe on the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) SEC Regulations Committee, which meets quarterly with SEC staff to discuss emerging financial reporting issues. Mr. Davidson also represents Crowe on CAQ’s audit practice task force and CAQ’s smaller firm task force.
Mr. Davidson serves on the steering committee for the AICPA National Conference on Current SEC and PCAOB Developments, held annually in Washington D.C.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Davidson completed a two year fellowship with the AICPA. He was staff liaison to AICPA committees on Banks and Savings Institutions and Credit Unions, and interacted frequently with federal banking regulators and SEC staff on rulemaking proposals. He worked on various standard setting projects, including the AICPA’s Audit and Accounting Guide for Depository and Lending Institutions.
Prior to his AICPA fellowship, Mr. Davidson was an audit senior manager on several Crowe financial services and SEC audit clients.
