BENNY R. VALEK
Benny Valek's law practice is concentrated in the areas of ESOP implementation and ESOP transactions of all sizes. Mr. Valek's ESOP practice includes working with ESOP companies, the selling shareholders of the company, lenders, the ESOP trustee (and other fiduciaries), the company's employees, valuators and/or third-party administrators to develop an ESOP strategy that will maximize benefits to the company, employees and selling shareholders. Mr. Valek is involved in restructuring ESOP loans, working on second stage ESOP transactions, and assisting in an ESOP audit with the Department of Labor and/or the IRS. Mr. Valek is also involved in transactions whereby an ESOP-owned company is sold or merged with another company.
Mr. Valek received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his law degree from Saint Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. He later received his LLM in taxation from the University of Denver School of Law and another LLM in taxation from the Southern Methodist University School of Law. Mr. Valek is board certified in taxation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is also a certified public accountant in the State of Texas.
Mr. Valek is a solo practitioner and maintains clients in multiple cities throughout the United States. He is a frequent speaker on ESOP topics.
