Ben has over 25 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, ownership transfers, and capital transactions. He has been involved in more than 150 transactions, most in the construction industry. For nearly twenty years, Ben was a principal of FMI Corporation and worked in the firm’s investment banking practice. He specialized in structuring internal transactions, representing buyers and sellers and providing capital services. From 2005 to 2008, Ben was Managing Director of a Denver-based private equity firm where he was responsible for evaluating, acquiring and improving distressed businesses.
Ben formed Leap Financial to provide advisory and negotiation services to construction companies, investment firms and individuals. He helps his clients refine objectives and strategy; evaluate, structure and execute ownership and investment opportunities. He has extensive familiarity with the complex and sensitive issues surrounding management and family transactions. His unique background provides him with the ability to understand the organizational, strategic, and financial aspects necessary to assess, structure and implement successful transactions and changes to ownership and governance.
As a result of his industry focus and experience in strategy and ownership issues, Ben has presented to many construction organizations as well as being published in numerous industry publications. He is active in several industry associations including AGC, MCA, ABC and the CFMA, where he is currently serving as the National Secretary. Ben serves on the boards of a number of construction firms and nonprofit organizations.
Ben has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Economics, Magna Cum Laude and his Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Denver.
