Barbara Walker Ph.D.

Performance Psychologist, Center For Human Performance

Dr. Walker is the founder and owner of the consulting firm, The Center For Human Performance, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she serves as a Performance Psychologist. She consults with a variety of individuals and groups in sport, business, and the performing arts. Her focus is specifically in performance enhancement and effective productivity, as well as women’s leadership. Additional areas addressed are disordered eating, weight management, stress management, attention, depression, anxiety, family issues, and transition. Barbara teaches as an adjunct associate professor at the University of Cincinnati in the department of psychology, teaching sport psychology, positive psychology, and psychology in the workplace. She consults with the sports medicine fellow programs for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Tri-Health Sports Medicine, and Kettering Sports Medicine. Barbara is a regular presenter at national and local professional conferences and workshops, as well as a regular contributor to magazines, including Runner’s World, Triathlete, Natural Health, and Women’s Health. She has authored multiple chapters associated with her profession. She has appeared as a guest expert on multiple radio and television programs. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon. She is a member of the Association of Applied Sport Psychology, and a previous board member in the organization as a Professional Standards division head. Barbara received her bachelor and master degree from the University of Cincinnati and her Ph.D. from the Union Institute. She performed pre- and post-doc internships with Kettering Sports Medicine, University of Cincinnati Athletics, and at the ACT Academy of Sport in Canberra, Australia where she worked with elite athletes in a variety of sports. Barbara demonstrates a passion for peak performance principles, applying them in her professional and personal life as a competitive athlete in the sports of marathon, including multiple Boston marathon and Ironman finishes, as well as being a member of the US National Duathlon Team
