Angela J Newell

Angela has over 25 years of experience in both auditing and operational and financial reporting. In her role at BDO, Angela is responsible for working with audit engagement teams to determine the appropriate accounting for a variety of topics, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, business combinations, consolidation and stock compensation.  Prior to joining BDO, Angela spent 13 years in senior leadership roles at multiple public companies, most recently as the Vice President - Corporate Controller for a public restaurant company. Angela began her career in auditing with a large national firm, including a rotation in their national office. Angela previously completed a four-year term as the chairperson of the Financial Reporting Executive Committee of the AICPA. She also previously served a four-year rotation as an industry representative and as a member of the AICPA's Revenue Recognition Working Group. Angela has an MS in Accounting and a BS in Mathematics, both from the University of Arkansas.
