Alex Galeano CPA

Alex Galeano is the Chief Financial Officer at ASIS International. With 35,000 members in more than 125 countries, ASIS is the leading organization for the security management profession worldwide and serves as the global leader in security professional development, education, and standards. In his role as CFO, he oversees all functions related to financial management, accounting, and administrative services for the organization and its related entities. He started his career working in the for-profit sector, but has focused on non-profit organizations for the past 14 years. He has gained an extensive background in financial reporting, systems implementations, budgeting, and supporting executive teams and non-profit boards. His experience includes working for a Fortune 500 company (Mirant Corp), trade association (National Association of Broadcasters) and one of the world’s largest membership organizations (AARP). Using his background in accounting and non-profits, he volunteers for several charities involved in poverty alleviation, and disaster relief both domestic and abroad. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (cum laude) and MBA (suma cum laude) from Strayer University in Washington D.C. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is the President-elect for the 2018 fiscal year at the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two sons.
