Alan is the President and Founder of Haig Partners, a leading buy-sell advisory firm that helps owners of higher-value auto, truck, RV and motorsports dealerships maximize the value of their businesses when they are ready to sell. He is an auto retail expert and trusted buy-sell advisor, having been involved in the purchase or sale of more than 400 dealerships with a value of over $7 billion. Alan is often quoted in the media and frequently speaks at auto retail conferences. He's the creator of The Haig Report ®, auto retail's longest-published report tracking trends in auto retail and their impact on dealership values, and he is co-author of NADA's "A Dealer Guide to Buying and Selling a Dealership."
Alan's background includes serving as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at AutoNation, Inc. While there, he served on their Executive Committee, wrote the original business plan for AutoNation's new car division, and led dealership acquisitions. He began his career in investment banking in New York City with Drexel Burnham Lambert. Alan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA from Dartmouth College.
