John Gregory Valenzuela is a sole practitioner in Placentia, California. He earned his BS and MBA from California State University, Long Beach and has been in practice since 1979. His principal area of practice is taxation, accounting, and consulting Tax Exempt Organizations. He has been an author/instructor for the California CPA Education Foundation: Authoring and teaching courses in Taxation, Internal Controls, Accounting and Auditing of Tax Exempt Organizations. Mr. Valenzuela was awarded the CSCPA Outstanding Instructor award in 1993 and the Outstanding Conference Speaker award in 2005 and 2008.

Mr. Valenzuela has been a frequent presenter at numerous Not-For-Profit Organizations Conferences. He was the chairperson for the first California conference. Additionally, Mr. Valenzuela established the Not-For-Profit Committee in the Orange County/Long Beach chapter of the California Society of CPA's, serving as its first chairperson. Currently, Mr. Valenzuela is serving as an associate member on the Exempt Organization Technical Resource Panel. He is the co-chair of the Form 990 Task Force of the Panel.

Mr. Valenzuela is also a full time lecturer of graduate and undergraduate courses at California State University, Long Beach where he has been teaching since 1984. Additionally, Mr. Valenzuela assisted in the establishment of the Not-For-Profit Management Certificate Program at California State University, Fullerton. He has also served as an instructor for the Program.

Within the community, Mr. Valenzuela has served in many capacities, both financial and non-financial. Mr. Valenzuela has served as a coach and manager for numerous Little League, Junior United Soccer, and National Junior Basketball teams from start up teams through high school, as well as in various capacities within his Church community including Lay Ministerial services, Confirmation teacher, and picnic chairperson. He is currently a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish.
