Randy Watkins CPA, CGMA

Randy has nearly seventeen years of experience, working at BDO and ACM in Denver and Greeley, Colorado. He specializes in audits of organizations in the following industries: governmental and nonprofit, construction, computer software development and technology, and manufacturing and distribution.

Randy takes a special interest in utilizing his deep understanding of his clients and their industries along with extensive experience to identify opportunities to make practical improvements in operational efficiencies and internal controls over financial reporting and accounting. He enjoys establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with his clients, in order to fully understand their most important wants and needs. This deep connectivity enables Randy to quickly identify opportunities before they become issues.

Randy believes in active involvement and leadership in his community and organizations that will shape the future of the accounting profession. As such he is a past member of the Executive Committee of the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center, Past President of the Northern Chapter of the Colorado Society of CPAs, member of the CGFOA, member of the Government Performance and Accountability Committee, and member of the planning committee for the AICPA’s annual Government Accounting and Auditing Conference (“GAAC”). Randy has also presented technical topics at the 2014-2015 GAAC conferences. Randy is also heavily involved in charitable organizations in his community, serving on the boards of Northern Colorado United for Youth, Greeley Chamber of Commerce, and United Way of Weld County. Randy also participates in the Community Council on Education and the advisory council for Partners Mentoring Youth for Greeley and Weld County.

As a native of Colorado, Randy enjoys the outdoors; golfing, camping, snowboarding, and water skiing. Randy also enjoys spending time with his wife Nicole, and daughters Lennon and McCartney.
