Senior Washington Editor for National Public Radio

Ron Elving is Senior Editor and Correspondent on the Washington Desk for NPR News, where he is frequently heard as a news analyst and writes regularly for npr.org.

He is a regular panelist on NPR’s “It’s All Politics” podcast, a Top Ten hit on iTunes podcasts with hundreds of thousands of downloads weekly.

Previously the political editor for USA Today and for Congressional Quarterly, Ron has also taught courses in communication and public affairs at four universities, including American University in Washington, where this spring he received the Outstanding Teacher award for adjunct faculty.

Ron did his undergraduate work at Stanford and earned master’s degrees from the University of Chicago and the University of California – Berkeley.
