SCOT JANSSEN, CPA KPMG LLP Scot Janssen is a partner in KPMG’s Federal Audit Practice in Washington DC. He joined the firm in 1983, and has been a partner for 20 years. Mr. Janssen lead the annual integrated group financial statement audit of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for 13 years, and issued the first unmodified full-scope opinion on DHS consolidated financial statements in 2013. In addition to serving as lead audit partner for DHS, Mr. Janssen has performed the audits of over a dozen other Federal Departments and agencies, including, Transportation Security Administration, Customs and Border Patrol, Department of Interior, Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Treasury. He is currently the lead audit partner on the integrated audit of the Social Security Administration, and is assisting the U.S. Department of Navy with their financial statement audit readiness activities. Mr. Janssen has served on the Board of the Northern Virginia Association of Government Accountants. He is a frequent speaker at Federal accounting seminars and training events sponsored by the Association of Government Accountants, and AICPA. Mr. Janssen is married with two children ages 23 and 21. He received a Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Houston and his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Wisconsin. He is a C.P.A. in the states of Virginia and Texas and a member of the AICPA.
