Accounting Policy Controller, Intel

Liesl Nebel is the Accounting Policy Controller at Intel Corporation. Liesl took over the role of Accounting Policy Controller in February 2010 and is responsible for leading and managing Intel’s technical accounting activities including: development and review of comment letters to the FASB, IASB and SEC on major projects; education and communication to finance and accounting on emerging accounting issues to all levels of the Company and development and review of technical positions on large and complex transactions. Liesl also oversees the Intel Sarbanes Oxley Program Office. This group is responsible for ensuring sustainable and cost effective compliance to SOX legislative requirements, adapting to the changing regulatory environment, setting standards and driving ongoing improvements in the program. Liesl joined Intel in 2009 as an Accounting Policy Manager. Prior to joining Intel, she was with PwC, most recently as a Director in PwC’s Global Capital Markets Group in London, UK working on M&A activity, IFRS conversions, and as a secondee to foreign SEC registrants. Liesl also worked in PwC’s Audit department in Seattle, WA and Prague, Czech Republic. Liesl is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Gonzaga University.
