Rick Childs is a Director with Crowe Horwath LLP. His primary responsibilities include overseeing the delivery of transaction and valuation services to the Firm’s financial institutions clientele. 
Mr. Childs is a frequent presenter for both national and state professional organizations including the American Bankers Association, Bank Director, SNL Financial LP, AICPA and Financial Managers Society. He has been quoted in the American Banker, Bank Director Magazine and online for SNL Financial, and has published articles on Mergers and Acquisitions in Bank Director, Commercial Insights, the Journal of Bank Accounting and Finance, Community Banker, and Western Independent Bankers. 
In his role overseeing the delivery of transaction services, he has provided consulting advice including financial institution merger and acquisition analysis, corporate finance issues, regulatory issues, and capital planning guidelines including:
• Advising numerous financial institutions in the acquisition of other financial institutions, including evaluation of pricing, structuring, regulatory issues, and due diligence issues.
• Advising banks on applying ASC 805 Business Combinations accounting
• Advising numerous financial institutions in evaluating the acquisition of branches.
• Advising financial institutions and private equity groups in acquiring failed bank and thrift entities from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
• Preparing numerous goodwill impairment tests in accordance with ASC 350.
He is a graduate of Purdue University and the Krannert Graduate School of Management. He is a chartered financial analyst and a certified public accountant, licensed in Indiana. Rick is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of Indianapolis, American Institute of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society.
