John H. Tatlock, a shareholder, has been named one of Super Lawyers’ Top 100 Colorado attorneys, one of the Best Lawyers in America in Family Law from 2014 through 2020, and a Colorado Super Lawyer for more than a decade – for Family Law from 2012 through 2020 and for Business Litigation in 2006 and 2007.

John is a seasoned and experienced litigator who practiced for 20 years at some of the nation’s leading litigation firms, representing clients in federal and state courts on complex litigation matters involving significant commercial disputes, mass torts, product liability claims, and securities fraud. John concentrates his practice on complex family law litigation and appeals, especially those involving significant assets, businesses, and challenging legal issues. In addition to his extensive trial experience, John has also worked on corporate transactions, mergers, and acquisitions, and for private equity fund formations, including portfolio company acquisitions, sales, and corporate governance.

Based on his trial experience, John has served as a faculty member for the Family Law Advocacy Institute of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA). John has also published several articles in professional legal journals, and in 2020, with co-authors and business valuation experts Ronald L. Seigneur and Kevin R. Yeanoplos, published Financial Expert Guide for Family Law Judges and Attorneys: Colorado Edition.

John is a graduate of Wichita State University, a former Teaching-Research Fellow in Political Science at the University of Iowa, and a graduate of the University of Denver College of Law. He was a member of the Political Science faculty at the University of Houston and, later, a public policy and government relations specialist at a large, multinational oil company.

John and Laurie moved to Denver in 1985. Their daughters, Erin and Beth, are both graduates of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, working in the Colorado hospitality industry.
