Erik Ordal CPA

President, Guardian Wealth Advisors, LLC

Hometown: Sioux Falls, South Dakota Degree: Bachelor of Science in Business - University of Minnesota (Dec 2012) Graduate Degree: Master of Accountancy - Carlson School of Management (May 2014) I am 30 years and currently reside with my wife (Allie) and newborn son (Otto) in Minneapolis, MN. We also enjoy the companionship from our two golden retrievers, Dakota & Molly. I began my career in the assurance department at Grant Thornton, LLP, obtaining my CPA license and serving a variety of industries in both the public and private sectors for four years. In 2018, I switched gears and pursued my passion for personal finance and serving others, spending a few years at a multi-family office in Minnetonka, MN, providing holistic wealth management to ultra-affluent households. While I found what I loved to do, it wasn't the right fit. I pitched the idea of adding financial planning services to a local CPA & consulting firm in Minneapolis (Myslajek Kemp & Spencer, Ltd.) in February of 2020. They were already serving thousands of individual and business clients, and plenty who expressed the desire for financial planning or wealth management services during their tax appointments. For two years I served as the Manager of Consulting Services, helping hundreds of clients and referrals with pandemic assistance programs. Meanwhile, the groundwork to offer financial planning services through the CPA firm was being laid in the background. After some steps forward (submitting our registration to the state of MN), and some steps back (pulling that registration two weeks later), MKS acquired the interest of Guardian Wealth Advisors, LLC, an SEC-registered RIA. The decision to offer CPA financial planning and wealth management services through acquisition was our result. But with the help of the AICPA, Compliance Advisor Professionals and many others along the way, the current and future MKS clients now have an evolving CPA firm with the resources to meet more of their needs.
