Vern Montross CFA, CPWA®

Mr. Montross joined City National Rochdale in 2013 and has over 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. Based in Texas, he is responsible for cultivating relationships with financial professionals and their clients. Mr. Montross was previously employed with AllianceBernstein as an Investment Advisor in their Private Client Wealth Management practice and Nonprofit Advisory practice, and was responsible for advising high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations, and corporate executives on comprehensive investment strategies including strategic asset allocation, risk management, tax efficient wealth transfer strategies, and implementation of alternative investments. In addition, he served on the AB National Advisory Council. In 2018, for the second year in a row, Mr. Montross has received the Five Star Wealth Manager award from Five Star Professional, a nationwide organization that conducts market-specific research to identify outstanding service professionals who show commitment to clients and demonstrate strong industry credentials. Criteria used to evaluate award recipients include assets under management, client retention rate, and regulatory and compliance history. Mr. Montross earned his MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas Health Science Center and his BS in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. He is fluent in Spanish. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Houston. Vern also earned the CPWA® designation in 2021. The CPWA® focuses on advising families with greater than $5m min assets.
