Dr. G. William Kennedy is a Managing Director in the Boston office of Berkeley Research Group LLC. He has over thirty years of professional experience including working with two of the Big 4 CPA firms, holding the positions of Partner in a Midwest regional CPA firm, and Managing Director at FTI Consulting prior to joining Berkeley Research Group in 2013. Additionally, he has held various academic positions, including the rank of Associate Professor of Finance (with tenure). Recently, Dr. Kennedy has served as adjunct professor in the graduate accounting program at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Kennedy earned his Ph.D. in finance from Saint Louis University, his M.A.S as well as his B.S. in accountancy from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has earned the ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation) designation issued by the AICPA in the inaugural year of the ABV program. He was inducted into the AICPA Business Valuation Hall of Fame in 2003. He is the immediate past chairman of the AICPA ABV Credentials Committee, and has served as chairman of the AICPA ABV Examination Committee. He was a member of the AICPA M&A Dispute Resolution Taskforce, and a former member of the AICPA Business Valuation Committee. He is on the Editorial Review Board of the ASA’s Business Valuation Review and a former Editorial Advisor to the AICPA’s Journal of Accountancy. For the past twenty years Dr. Kennedy has been active in the practice of business valuation and litigation support services. His areas of expertise include event studies and statistics and econometric analysis. Dr. Kennedy is an experienced expert witness. He has testified in numerous State and Federal courts and before international arbitrations tribunals as an expert witness on various matters related to his areas of expertise in valuation and damages. He is a frequent speaker on both valuation and statistics related topics at AICPA National Conferences and State CPA Society conferences. He has also provided continuing professional education seminars on valuation topics for the AICPA and American Society of Appraisers and other professional organizations.
